Re/Kick was founded in 2020 by Ali Safwat, Varsity goal keeper for Panther Creek High School's soccer team, and the Premier team at North Carolina Football Club.
" As a lifelong soccer player, I've always been impressed by the vibrant colors and the sheer excitement of lacing up a new pair of soccer cleats.
At the end of each soccer season, I used to gather my cleats, worn and tired from the long hours on the field, and toss them into a bag, hardly thinking about their well-worn condition. It became a regular thing, just giving away my cleats, without really thinking about where they'd end up next. I never stopped to wonder who would wear them next or how these cleats, each engraved with the thrill of wins and the lessons of defeat, could reignite someone else's love for the game.
It was a moment of revelation while observing a group of kids playing in the streets of Cairo, Egypt, that I realized the importance of not just donating but ensuring that those shoes continued to bring the same sense of joy and support to any underprivileged young player.
This realization ignited a mission within me to renew life in donated cleats and personally provide those talented players with the same sense of excitement.
This journey led to the creation of Re/Kick, where I aim to share the joy of receiving new shoes with fellow players, believing that every committed soccer enthusiast deserves this experience.
Through Re/Kick, I strive to empower young athletes and renew their passion for the beautiful game of soccer."
